Browns Come to Agreement with Abram Elam

ESPN reports that the Browns have come to an agreement to sign Jets free agent safety Abram Elam. We respect this move. Elam is young enough to still contribute at 27 years. He is 6 feet tall and weighs about 210 pounds. His college days were spent at Kent State. He debuted professionally with the Cowboys in 2006 and then joined the Jets as a free agent in 2007. He has endured a lot pf personal tragedy in that three of his siblings have been shot to death since 1987, two older brothers and a sister.

He is an exciting player that could make a real difference in some games as he has proven in the past. In 2008, he intercepted a pass from Bills quarterback Trent Edwards and returned it 92 yards for a thrilling touchdown. 6 weeks later, he forced a fumble by Bills quarterback JP Losman which led directly to a touchdown recovery by the Jets with less than two minutes left in the game. The Jets won because of that play. Those are the kind of plays that we need more of in Cleveland.

Go Browns!
