Free Agency Update: All Quiet on the Cleveland Front

There is not much to report on free agency news for the Browns. No signings thus far. Little activity. The first real visit to the Team came yesterday with Giants free agent safety James Butler visiting Cleveland after he left St. Louis with no deal in hand. Butler is a likely candidate for the Browns as he could replace the Team's free agent Sean Jones. Butler is 215 pounds and 6 foot 3 inches tall. He is a very good safety. He had 68 tackles last season and three interceptions. The year before he was one of the best Giants on the field at the Super Bowl -he had 10 tackles in that game.
The Browns have not moved at all on Derrick Ward of the Giants or Big H of the Bengals at wide receiver. Age is a factor for both, especially "Hosh". But if Ward does not sign today, the Browns should reconsider their position on him. He could play in tandem with Jamal, not overtake Jamal's starting position.
We will keep you posted on significant developments on the free agency front.
