The new Cleveland Browns

Training camp is underway, but Eric Mangini has been busy since January!Forget the phrase "rebuilding",that's been too many teams excuse for too long. It's been said that this game is won in the trenches.I believe that, and I think "man-genius" believes that. He's built support around Joe Thomas and added depth behind them. The same has been done around Shaun Rogers on the other side of the ball, bringing in D-lineman from the Jets that fit the mold Mangini has in mind.
The improved line is going to provide new opportunities for Jamal Lewis who is said to be coming to camp in fantastic shape.Behind Lewis,Jerome Harrison who has shown flashes of being a playmaker.
The D-lines improvement will draw double teams and create openings for a young athletic Linebacker corps.
The quarterback competition is what it is.I have faith in coach Mangini to evaluate and choose the man who gives us the best chance to win.
The Browns have a very young receiving corps and secondary, but again a few more seconds thanks to an improved front line helps alot for everyone.
In closing, the so called experts always rank the NFL teams from top to bottom. There are always flops, and always a Cinderella story or two.The AFC north is one of the toughest divisions in football today.I look for it to get even tougher this year!

  1. You're damn right that football is won and lost in the trenches. Even in the new era of the "west-coast" expansive offensive schemes, the Giants two years ago proved that point very well.
